Eight-bay workplace charging
A trades business electrifying its van fleet needed eight charging bays without a costly new grid connection. Dynamic load management made the existing supply stretch.
A growing trades firm was switching its van fleet to electric and needed eight bays at the depot. The obvious quote — a new grid connection — would have run into five figures and weeks of lead time.
We surveyed the site’s existing capacity and duty cycle and designed a dynamically load-managed system instead. The eight chargers share the available supply intelligently, throttling gracefully when demand peaks rather than tripping, and the vans charge comfortably overnight when the depot is quiet.
We claimed the Workplace Charging Scheme vouchers on the client’s behalf, handled the DNO application, and installed in two out-of-hours phases so the working day was never disrupted. The site now runs on a maintenance plan with remote monitoring, so any fault is flagged before it costs the business a vehicle.
